How it works
One stream of cards, and a record of when each one should come back. Listen hands-free, tap your misses as you go, or read them on screen.
Your job is simple: try to remember the answer, then tell FlashPod whether you got it.
No session to build, and no number of cards to commit to. Press Study and the cards that are due are already there.
By default FlashPod uses everything currently due. To work on less than that, open Study Scope and narrow it by deck or tag.
You never choose a review interval. That's the part FlashPod is for.
The pause is the point: producing an answer from memory — even failing to — is what makes the next attempt easier. Reading an answer you were just shown does much less.
FlashPod asks the question, aloud or on screen. You get a short pause to pull the answer out of memory. FlashPod gives you the answer so you can check yourself. You say whether you got it — those are the only two options. Then FlashPod updates that card's schedule: cards you got wait longer, cards you missed come back sooner.
Typed cards are read aloud for you. Record a field yourself — question, answer or hint — and FlashPod uses your recording for that part instead.
Every card works in all three. Pick whichever suits where you are, and change it whenever that changes.
The same three modes sit at the top of every session in the app.
Runs, commutes, chores
Press play and keep moving. FlashPod reads the question, leaves you time to recall it, then reads the answer — no touching the screen between cards. The cards you heard collect in a list; when you next have a minute, open Rate heard cards, flip the ones you missed to Didn't get it, and save them together.
Walking, cooking, anywhere with a free hand
The same audio flow, with one input. Miss a card and tap the screen — through a pocket is fine — and FlashPod marks it Didn't get it and keeps going. A card that plays through untapped counts as one you got.
At a desk, on the couch, waiting in line
Like a traditional flashcard app. Read the question, reveal the answer, choose Got it or Didn't get it. The rating saves and you're on to the next one.
Your due cards, your scope, the ratings you've already given and the scheduling behind them all stay together. Start hands-free on a walk, switch to tap misses when a hand comes free, finish visually at your desk. Changing modes never creates a duplicate review.
Your schedule is the progress — not an unfinished queue sitting there judging you.
Cards you rated are done. Cards you didn't reach are still due, and they'll be waiting in the same state next time. Cards you heard hands-free but haven't rated are kept aside so you can finish rating them later.
FlashPod tells you the session is complete. If you missed cards along the way, it can run those again right then — reinforcement until you get them, which doesn't push their scheduled dates around.
Switch Study Scope to Practice to study past what's due — before a test, or when you've got spare time. Practice doesn't touch your review dates. Scheduled study tells FlashPod how well you know something; practice deliberately doesn't.
Whichever way you already have them.
